01.
Objective
Pick a song and create a visual response to the song. They should be conceptually unique, but must also work well together as a cohesive set of images. Use any signifiers to tell a compelling story.
02.
Song & Ideation
The song I chose was “All Too Well” by Taylor Swift. This was before Taylor Swift began re-recording her old albums. The song is about Taylor remembering the ups and downs they had when they were together so vividly and believes that her ex remembers it all as well.

The signifiers I used were a camera and a house to emulate the memories during and after the relationship. The camera is shaped like a house and the lens or the back of the camera projects or highlights the memories.
03.
Process
I first created the scene in 3D and then used it as a reference to design everything in Photoshop. I added soft shading with a paint scatter brush. I made everything dark and grayscale but made the spotlight bright to highlight the subject. Finally, I created my own color grade.

I chose this cinematic aspect ratio because the entire song felt like a movie.

04.
Final Results
It starts off with the two in the house happy together. Then spend time together outside. And then something happens, causing them to split up. The guy is alone. He would remember all these memories of her. But no matter what he does, the memories keep sucking him back in.
